To look at the world through a child’s eyes
Is an art form we’ve long since forgotten.
Unable to fathom deceit and lies,
To youthful eyes innocence begotten.
Retinas colored with wonder and awe
Constantly watch for wisdom and knowledge.
Untainted with age they look for no flaw,
Seeing morality without a stoppage.
A graduation of years blinds the eye
From holding on to such a wondrous view.
Our aged lives include many a sigh,
Losing sight of the kid we once knew.
Youth may be unlearned but youth can still teach
How to see things adult eyes cannot reach.
